I didn't photograph bending with the screwdriver...my floats were right from my last rebuild.
Note: Below, you'll notice the end of the T-square is sitting on the lip. The measure of 26mm is actually from the surface that the gasket sets on. Measure the height of the lip and drop the T to 24mm or what ever the lip measures. Mine are at 26mm from the top of the lip, but I've seen no problem with this difference. None the less, the measurement is 'spose to be from the gasket surface.

Important!! Bend the tang very slightly, just a tiny bit...you can just feel it bend, but not see it bend. For clarity, the position of the floats below are similar to the photo...the carb would be below the float. The drawings show the use of a small to medium screwdriver to raise or lower the tang on the float to correct its height. 26mm, as shown in the photo (left). Bending the tang as shown in the drawing (bottom left) will decrease the measurement (or height), and thus, on the bottom right drawing will increase the measurement (height). |

Place the bowl gasket in the bottom. I didn't replace mine, but I'll need to next time. Note the position of the retaining clip, it must face the boot or cylinder side of the carb in order to spring them back on the bowls. |
