    hi,  i rescuing a troubled '77 400f from a dark, dry (thank goodness!) shed & since finding the SOHC/4 site (FABulous community, non?)... i'll send photos when she's feeling better! in the meantime, i've been riding this beauty (see attached) which we bought 3 years ago with about 9000 kms ... i have a question for you regarding this bike, & hope you may know some details about this era only a short time ago, i began hearing about the 400 HAWK I & II that came out this same year (1978) ... MY side covers simply say "TWIN" & i have original owner's manual & all, but i can't seem to find any info on these productions ... did they really have THREE different 400's that year? my engine# & frame# are the same ... cb400t4017903

the bike is in kingsville, ontario (south of windsor & detroit) surrounded by plenty more pals of its era including a '79 cx500 deluxe which mom prefers over her new volusia!
