I bought this 1978 CB750K in 2000 at a garage sale. I was looking around at the junk laid out when out of the blue the woman running the sale asked if I want to buy a motorcycle. Well my response was ‘let’s see it’ and she uncovered a oxidized, tarnished but blemish free 750 with 2 flats and seized brakes. I asked ‘how much?‘ and she said she wanted it removed for a few hundred dollars. Well $325.00 Cdn. dollars later and I was the proud owner of a gently used Honda that had been stored for 10 years. I was extatic but hadn’t ridden in 20 plus years but this was one of the bike’s of my youth. Well my brother who is more knowledgeable than I took over. A friend of his did the mechanical, cleaning the carbs and getting the brakes un-seized. He went slowly but then I stored it again until last summer when I decided I really did want to It was running rough at this point so I took it to a Honda dealer. Well they re-jetted the carbs and got it running reasonably well. That would suffice for a few months until I found a mechanic who grew up working on the 750Ks and he knows what he is doing. Well he managed to get it running extremely well after he put the stock jets back in and it also needed a steering head bearing. Well I have put on 3600 miles up to now in the shortened riding season here in Ontario. I just bought stock pipes for it from Florida so the bike will be all original, stock condition with minor blemishes. It is a pleasure to get on for a couple of hours and I can’t believe how I put aside riding for such a long time for the other half, my daughter and now my grandson. Now, it’s my turn to ride.
