Toll Roads I'm sure that "tolls" would relieve traffic on our existing local highways. Of course! The traffic would then be limited to those that can afford it. Maybe many of those living up in the ritzy areas of the North Side may like the idea and don't mind the added expense, but there are many residents using the intended toll roads that are having a tuff time with the ever increasing cost of gasoline. Their reaction to this idea is beyond one of anger or frustration, but one of necessity. It appears that those politicians trying to put toll roads in place don't understand that there are lots of people with their backs up against the wall already. Everything is going up in price due to higher energy costs, and officials just seem to think it's OK to keep adding and adding more expense. I guess the politicians just don't know anybody living on a wage! -pub |
New Orleans Saints Should San Antonio make a move to get the Saints here permanently? I think this makes San Antonio look bad! Maybe it’s just me, but I think this gives the appearance that the only way we can get a pro football team is by hook or crook. That really we’re just a second-class city that has to depend on the misfortune of another city. Can we only get a pro football time by taking advantage of a down and out city…. so we have to take advantage of a tragedy. I think this is pathetic. Maybe this is how a slick businessman makes a move, but do we as a city want to have a reputation like this? I don’t like the idea that San Antonio has to pander the situation of another city that has found itself in desperation. Get it? New Orleans is truly in a desperate situation, San Antonio isn’t!! Is this the best we can do? Must we take advantage of a city that needs the loyalty or their team? I’m disgusted by the whole idea! |
