The English Language is very primitive in communicating emotions.  That is why I choose to paint.  To show the world the true emotions in my paintings that cannot be explained.  I'm a medium for the Dead and I'm processing their pain.  In Dante, the gate to Heaven is found by plunging into the depths of Hell.  This kind of art puts us in touch with something deep within, something genuinely human; there the community is created, isolation is broken. 

 

 

 

 

Stephen was born 1948 in Salina Kansas.  He served in the Army during  Viet Nam in the Combat Intelligence Battalion as an Intelligence Analyst.  During his tour he was assigned to the Mechanized 1st Infantry Division, 101st Airborne Division, 17th Assault Helicopter Company, the Lai Khe, Iron Triangle, Camp Eagle and G-2 Air.                   1968-69
