As a result of getting older and having a number of injuries, I've decided to work on the heavy-bag again. It's been quite a few years....

This 1st workout on the heavy bag has shown me that I do still have a bit of strength in the delivery of my upper body, but that my lower body because it must connect thru the back and hips, is shot. The only way I can deliver any power is directly thru my center and not from the ground, and I can do very little with my left hip. That's the weakest link.

I'm remembering a timing exercise I used to do. It is based on a center-line attack. It'll take some time to get this one back. In the middle of this pattern, you can also grapple, or step thru your opponents legs.
Adding knuckle pushups and doing it for an extended period gives you a very dynamic counter punching ability. Because this is "center-line" structure, it can be a transition from defense, striking thru your opponents attack.
