Home Fuel Tank Helm Engine

Updated  10/18/11

I had already removed the old stainless fueltank.  It was cradled or suspended from the floor of the cockpit.  I held the tank in place by tying rope around the tank and to the wheel, while I cut the fiberglass and wood surrounding the tank.  The depth of the saw blade is critical in that situation.  You don't want any sparks from making contact the steel of the tank.  The fill on top of the tank wasn't readily removable, but it just barely fit thru the lazarette.

There is still some detail to do and I can't fully finish until I've moved the wheel.
