1975 saw the beginning of the Honda Goldwing dynasty. The GL1000 opened up the world of motorcycle touring to the general public in the terms of comfort, low maintenance and performance, and proof of their quality and toughness plays out today as 1000s of the early GL1000s are still on the road without ever having an engine rebuild, or more care than good general maintenance.
