Honda Motorcycles brought the first GL1000 Goldwing to America in 1975. At 1000CCs and nearly 600Lbs., it was a fairly good sized cruiser. Unlike most heavier bikes, it stood out in performance. It immediately found favor with the World's police departments for that reason, not to mention it's level of reliability, and is now the world standard for law enforcement for its combination of power, agility, acceleration, reliability and low maintenance. That's quite an accomplishment for a moderately heavy motorcycle! |
